Ajuchan: Tokyo-Based DJ with a Global Sensibility​

​Ajuchan was born and raised by a Japanese mother who works in the fashion industry and a Bahamian father, who is a professional drummer and a producer. Her DJ journey began while living in Paris, where she connected with artist-DJs and the nightlife scene. Although raised in Japan, her experiences in France and the U.S. exposed her to global Black music culture, deeply inspiring her.

 

She officially started DJing in February 2023, performing at events like Soulection Japan, Tokyo Vitamin, Amapinight, and Famous Japanese Rapper "MIYACHI" 's release party etc. Focusing on international crowds, she primarily plays in Tokyo at events featuring hip-hop, Afrobeats, and Amapiano.

In September and October 2024, Ajuchan made an unforgettable mark on the international music scene by performing at some of the most iconic venues and events across the United States and Europe. From New York’s upscale rooftop club Le Bain to Miami’s vibrant Afro-themed events, Paris’ influential radio show Rinse France, London’s famed BOXPARK, and the UK’s largest girls-only party LICK, Ajuchan showcased unparalleled talent, versatility, and style.

Her main genres include Afrobeats, Amapiano, Afrohouse, Brazilian funk, Gqom, Jersey club, hip-hop, UK, and Caribbean music such as dancehall,shatta etc. Known for her versatility, Ajuchan blends hip-hop with African, Caribbean,dance sounds, and edits,establishing herself as an all-genre / open-format DJ in Tokyo.
